benefits of pilates

Pilates is a true mind-body practice. Joseph Pilates said his Method is as much a mental workout as it is physical. There are so many benefits of a mind-body connection, but just some of these include…

  • Improved concentration
  • Increased body awareness
  • Stress management and relaxation
  • Enhances mental and emotional well-being

WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING

"My right shoulder had very limited movement and I was seeking treatment from an Osteopath and having acupuncture to relieve the pain and get some movement. Both instructed me to "do something". I chose Pilates and was given Arnel's number... When I started I felt uncoordinated and weak. 18 months down the track I can't imagine life without Pilates. I feel completely different, not only is my shoulder fully functional but I am strong and flexible."

Andrea G.

"I have known Arnel for the last 9 years. The core strength and flexibility that I have achieved under his guidance and training is something that I treasure and am very grateful for. I enjoy the challenge and definitely seen the benefits of the workout. I'm much toner and stronger. Thanks Arnel!"

Lai P.

"Since I started training with Arnel, I cannot comprehend how much more flexible I am and how strong my core is. Arnel is a very knowledgeable trainer as he understands stiffness and muscle soreness. I love going every week as it is good for my health and fitness. Thank you Arnel!"

Reuel P.

"Arnel has helped me develop strength and flexibility coupled with a toned body. His disciplined approach to training has helped me maintain my fitness."

FAQs

To give you the best possible Pilates experience, we highly recommend that if you are new to Pilates or to our studio, to start with a 30 minute Initial Assessment. Our Teacher will ask you a few questions and do some specific tests to see if Reformer Pilates will be suitable for your. Either way, you will be given a recommendation on what would be best for you going forward.

To book for your complementary Initial Assessment you can call us on 9530 0940, send us an email or do so online.

Yes, you do need to book into our classes. To avoid disappointment, we recommend that you book well in advance as places are limited. Our Group Reformer and Group Classes need a minimum of 2 people to proceed. In the event that less than 2 people are booked, the class will be cancelled 2 hours prior to start time and your class credit will be automatically refunded back to your account.

It’s quick and easy via the Mindbody App, or from right here on our website. To book via the Mindbody App, just search for Daily Pilates and book into our classes.

If a class is full, you can waitlist for it. Waitlist spots nearly always come through so only waitlist if you are certain you can attend the class. Once you have been allocated a spot via email you are confirmed for the class, so please check your email regularly. Once you are added to the class our normal 8 hour cancellation policy applies.

We recommend you arrive at least 5 minutes before class. All group classes start promptly, so for the safety and enjoyment of all participants please be at class on time – the warm-up is an important aspect of each class.

If you can no longer make it to your session or class, please cancel your booking online.

For all Studio Sessions (Private, Duo & Trio) 24 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule.

For Group Reformer and Group Classes, you can freely cancel up to 8 hours prior to the class start time. If you cancel less than 8 hours before the start of class, this will count as a late-cancel. Cancellations 8 hours or more before class will automatically refund your class credit.

If you late cancel or no-show and are on a session/class pass you will lose a credit.

If you are on a Membership and late-cancel or no-show 3 times in 28 days your booking privileges will be suspended for a week. Any Group Reformer classes you have booked will be cancelled.

In the rare event that a class needs to be cancelled, you will be notified as soon as we are aware. Our group classes need a minimum of 2 people to proceed. In the event that less than 2 people are booked, the class will be cancelled 2 hours prior to start time and your class credit will be automatically refunded back to your account.

Wear something you feel comfortable to work out in such as stretchy fitted clothing. Please do not wear any clothes with zippers & remove any sharp jewellery as they can damage the Pilates apparatus.

Only socks are allowed to be worn when using our Reformers – if you need Pilates grip socks, we have some that can be purchased in our studio.
Props and mats are supplied for all classes.

We recommend you bring a drink bottle – filtered water is provided in the studio. Glasses are available if you forget your bottle.

You might also want to bring a small towel for personal use.

You will be required to fill out a New Client Form prior to your first visit. Feel free to download it and bring it in with you. Please have a glance over if you do have a known condition or symptoms as you may require medical clearance before participating in some classes.

New Client Form

Please always let the Teacher know at the beginning of class if there are any issues, even if they know about your injury, if it’s not feeling good that day. Let the Teacher know if you have a past injury, have had surgery or if there is an area or exercise you need to avoid. They will make sure to give you alternatives during the class. If you have had an acute injury or have had surgery we recommend booking an Initial Assessment and possibly a Private Sessions for your first visit.

It is not suitable to start Pilates for the first time during pregnancy, however if you are a client you may continue your sessions after consulting your Teacher. Please note that depending on your condition or which trimester you are in, you may be asked to continue with private sessions (as a group may no longer be the best environment for you).

Once your doctor allows you to begin exercising again, you can join a class/session. This is usually 6 weeks post-natal.

Our aim is to provide classes in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere. We ask that you kindly remember to be courteous at all times. Please either switch off mobile phones or put them on silent during sessions/classes.

We ask that you leave your shoes upon entry into the studio.
If you need to leave a class early, kindly notify your Teacher prior to class.

Please wipe down your mats & reformer beds at the end of each class.

If you have any personal items such as a phone or jewellery in class please store them to the side of the room in the shelves where no one can step on them. However we recommend leaving valuables at home as Daily Pilates takes no responsibility for their safety.

Depending on your goals, exercise habits and other activities, we recommend doing 3 classes/sessions a week. However, you will still feel the benefits even if you only do 1 class/session a week. We are also more than happy to sit with you to discuss the best and most sustainable options for you.

Suspend Memberships: You have a yearly suspension allowance of 8 weeks on any membership. Suspensions are a minimum of 2 weeks at a time, your payments are suspended while on freeze. If you are sick or injured you can send us a medical certificate and your freeze time will not count towards your 8 week yearly allowance.

Membership Cancellation: New memberships have a 12 week commitment. Memberships will continue beyond the 2 week initial commitment unless Daily Pilates is notified of a cancellation request in writing. If you do not wish to continue after the 12 week commitment, we require 14 days written notice for membership cancellation.

Refunds:
Sorry we do not give refunds.
To ensure that you achieve maximum results and can be monitored by our Teacher throughout your class, we have a maximum of 12 people in our Group Classes.
For our Group Reformer classes, we have a maximum of 7 people.

Our classes are designed to challenge anyone from the fittest to those who are absolute beginners. The Teacher can progress or regress the exercises to suit your needs. Regardless of your fitness level, rest assured you will be well looked after.
